Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the only Pre K bilingual teacher at Elrod Elementary school. My students come from low income families, as do the majority of Elrod's students. We don't have many parent volunteers at the school and there is not much money available to get all the things I would like to have for my students. Since I am the only Prek teacher I don't have any other pre K bilingual teacher to share materials with. We are studying the life cycle in class and my students are really excited about the butterflies we have seen in the playground, so I would like to have some materials in the class about the butterfly life cycle and animals picture cards since the majority of my students do not know much about animals. other thing I would like to have in my class are materials related to the weather, we discuss everyday about the day's weather and I would like to have some materials and pictures related to the weather in my science center. Finally, I would like to have a digital camera so we can go out and take pictures to the animals we see as butterflies or birds and share them in class. I think all these materials will be helpful in my students' learning process.
