Science Books Needed!!

The cost of these Science Books is $185, including shipping and <a target="new" href="" onclick="g_openWindow('', 300, 800, 'fulfillwindow');return false;">fulfillment</a>.

I am a third-grade teacher at P.S. 345, a shortage school in Brooklyn. Approximately 98% of our students receive free lunch. The majority of the students in our school test below grade level. My students are motivated and eager to learn. Their goal, and mine, is to reach their full potential and test sucessfully at their grade level. My proposal is for funding to purchase books that will help them achieve this goal. My students enjoy reading nonfiction books and this allows them to expand their horizons through reading. Unfortunately, my students do not have books to read at home and they are not always able to go to the public library. I would love to have books in the classroom that are appropriate to their reading level, that my students could use to do research on a variety of interesting topics. In particular, I know they would enjoy having science books about animals, their life cycle, and detailed information about the animal kingdom. Lakeshore Learning has a couple of sets of science books that I think would be great for my students, and I am asking for funding to purchase these sets. These books are appropriate to their reading level, and cover a diverse and fascinating range of interesting information about animals. These books are designed to appeal to young readers. They are heavily illustrated with amazing photographs and provide detailed information about differrent animals . Next year my students will be taking a mandatory science standardized test, and we need to do whatever we can to prepare them for this critical step. Having these books as part of our classroom learning experience would really help them succeed, and it would surely boost their interestand appreciation for science. Thank you for considering my proposal!
