This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My PreK 3 class has 19 amazing 3-4 year olds.
This is the first time they are in a school environment.
They learn how to make independent choices.
First time they use the glue, first time they play a math game and first time they learn a new language. We are a bilingual school.
Our goal is that our students learn to love science and be curious about science projects
They love experimenting with different materials, tools and new toys.
My Project
We need more exciting games (projects) at our Science Center.
I feel that my students need new activities in the Science Center.
I would use the Science Activity Games during our Center time and Math table time. During Center Time if we learn about different houses and where people live they will be able to build the houses from the new material. Next day they can add bridges . The following day they can check what material is floating on a river (water) under the bridge they contracted earlier.
During our Math table time the students will be able to measure and compare different materials.
My students love to build structures and speak about what they built. This is a great opportunity for science and language development both in English and Hebrew.
As they are just beginning to learn a new language, these colorful objects are great to teach colors and shapes.
