This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Fifth grade is the time that you start to dig deeper into your learning. My students are doing just that. When you enter my classroom, you will see my students engaging with one another in their learning. They are sharing new tips and strategies with each other and they are constantly asking questions.
My 5th graders are hungry to learn more.
They want more than just a textbook or a worksheet to help them nail down a new concept. They are always coming up with ideas and suggestions on how I can change my lessons or activities to help them learn even better. They realize they have a voice in their learning, and I want to give them as many tools as possible to support their different needs. In my fifth grade classroom, they are showing that they are ready to learn more and they are in fact, life-long learners.
My Project
My students love learning science and social studies. Both subjects allow them to ask questions and explore the world we live in. In order for my students to learn and gain a deeper understanding of the world, they require tools other than a textbook or a worksheet.
Science kits, large maps, and books will encourage a more hands-on learning environment for both science and social studies.
When my students are able to use these tools in their learning, they will gain a deeper understanding of the topic and the world around them. They will have the opportunity to explore and learn from one another. These tools will greatly enhance their learning.
