I love that my students enjoy reading together as a class. We enjoy having discussions about what we're reading and how it pertains to our everyday lives or past experiences. We enjoying listening to each other's opinions.
The class also enjoys using technology in the classroom.
We have recently started doing individual state reports. They will be researching their state and then make a brochure and presentation on their state.
We also enjoy art activities. We have been taking the short stories we read in ELA and turning them into art. We have drawn pictures and made watercolor pictures. We are going to make pottery this week also.
My Project
I am a teacher in rural Alaska to 5th and 6th graders. We are a Title I school and I have to use a majority of my own funds for classroom supplies. This leaves me unable to spend money on science experiment materials.
I am hoping to get this project funded so that I will have some supplies for hands-on science learning in the classroom along.
I will be able to use my funds for materials for other experiments for the students.
I have also included some text items for classroom read-a-loud and other nonfiction text to use or science and language arts.
