Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
If it is not science it is math .... this is what my 5th grade students are most excited about when they enter my room. Education is continuously changing and so are our students. Common Core is spreading throughout the country and as teachers we are in need to keep up with these new changes.
My students are fifth graders ranging between 10-11 years old.
They come from many different backgrounds and have many different learning styles. They attend a Title One school, which has 76% or more of our students receiving free and reduced lunch. Unfortunately, this means that many of our parents do not have the financial ability to provide the resources that the students need. They are students who are in need of resources to help them reach their goal of being promoted into middle school.
My Project
Providing my students with interactive science material will make learning fun as well as hold on to their attention. Can you imagine being in my class? Watching students able to work hands on with material they can learn with. Watching them figure out how machines work or how to make clean water!! Watching the shine in their eyes when they can put a pulley together and understand how it all works.
I want you to help me inspire, teach, and guide my students as they interactive with resources that will enable them to learn how simple machines work around them.
These materials with allow for positive interactions and cooperative learning groups as students interact with the math and science. Be the benefactor that allows them to learn about the world we live in through fun and exciting activities.
