Help me give my students the ocean in a box set of specimens, with which the students will practice their scientific field sketches, and scientific coloring books which will be used to learn anatomy informally and seamlessly.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Biology to a group of wonderful freshman students. They are excited and motivated most by technology and hands-on, manipulative materials. Any opportunity to bring these types of materials into the classroom as a means of facilitation is strongly embraced.
As an inclusion classroom, my room is a mixture of general education students and classified students, all of whom share the same desire to enhance their learning environment, especially utilizing a mixture of hands on manipulatives and technology.
All technology and hands-on materials have enriched lessons in the past have been met, most importantly, with excitement and eagerness to learn. Items like the DNA and cell models are the kind of learning tools that truly facilitate learning. Fostering that excitement and eagerness is one of the biggest keys to a successful lesson.
My Project
The ocean in a box set of ocean life specimens will be used by the students as hands on learning materials. Besides holding and viewing them up close, they will practice the common scientific practice of field sketching, using those as the field specimens.
I would also love for my students to have the scientific coloring books.
For students their age, it is almost nostalgic to color again, and at the same time, they are looking at biologically correct anatomical coloring pages. To me, it is the perfect way to pull off what I call sneaky learning, where they are engaged in a meaningful learning activity without even realizing that they are doing it.
