My students are hard working boys and girls who don't quit and love the challenge that wrestling brings to their lives. They often come from broken families who have migrated from Mexico, El Salvador and most recently, Yemen. Most of their parents are migrant workers struggling to just put food on the table with no extra money for sports or equipment.
Wrestling is the toughest sport on our campus and my wrestlers know what it takes to be a champion on and off the mat.
Being from a small school, they have to work twice as hard to succeed at the Masters and state level of wrestling competition. Our wrestling program is well respected among the wrestling community because they know that my students are tough opponents- physically and mentally. Through wrestling my students learn to APO (adjust, persevere and overcome) in all circumstances. They learn to be individuals that display strong character, loyalty, kindness, trustworthiness and courage. Without wrestling my students would not have a chance for success and opportunities outside of their community.
Cardio conditioning and proper weight control are prime aspects of building champions in any wrestling program. The Schwinn AD7 Airdyne bike will be an asset to our program by allowing students to perform HIT (High Intensity Training) style cardio conditioning. This kind of workout mimics the intensity of a wrestling match and the cardio stamina needed to perform well.
A Schwinn AD7 Airdyne bike in our wrestling room will help my students achieve their cardio and weight goals.
As of now our school has minimal functional cardio equipment and none that have the intensity of the Schwinn AD7 Airdyne bike. With the Schwinn AD7 Airdyne in our wrestling room, my students will not have to leave our building to use the dilapidated cardio equipment in our weight room. The accessibility of cardio equipment in our wrestling room will also be a huge asset in helping students control their weight more effectively.
