During these difficult times, my students have been affected tremendously due to the closure of our school. Currently, we are adapting to distance learning by using platforms such as Google Classroom and SeeSaw. My students are using these platforms so that they can access their work while at home during the hours that their parents can help them. Parents are trying to help them when they can but are also struggling. I am trying to teach my students on the limited resources that I have at home
My Project
Many students rely on us educators for so much. However, this has been taken away from students. We are now asking them to learn new material with out being in the classroom. Teachers are trying to present material on their computers. They are making new things because they don't have electronic versions of work for students.
A document camera and iPad are important tools for effectively teaching from home.
It is difficult when I am teaching something and I can not share it on my screen. I have tried writing things on a piece of paper or small white board, but it is difficult for the students to see. This is where a document camera will make a huge difference. I will be able to show things such as their My Math book, Texts for Close Reading materials, etc. The students will be able to see what I am doing. An iPad will help me scan documents and then upload them to my google classroom as images. This will help me share things that I don’t have electronic copies of with my students.
A document camera will help everyone, especially my visual learners. Not everyone is able to follow along or understand a concept orally. The document camera will be my students' eyes so they can see what I am modeling and teaching.
