Schoolwide Student-Driven Communication

My Project

Our high school has been through a forced transformation, coming back to school after being shut down from March 2020, our building was condemned for PCB contamination. This resulted in many more months of remote learning, multiple pivots, two compromised interim locations, finally transforming an old Macy's building into our current home for the next 4-5 years. In addition to rebuilding our community, we are constantly changing and adapting, learning and tweaking, testing the resilience of all of the humans in our school.

Over the summer, teachers and students worked together in a retreat to focus on how we can enhance our sense of community, connection and well-being.

One of the initiatives that came out of this amazing effort was a multi-faceted, student-driven communication. For this to be effective, we would love to be able to procure two large flat screen displays so my students can be updated, we can share celebrations, and even create simulated windows in a few key areas. Did I mention that our building doesn't have windows?
