Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is my 3rd year teaching in the Bronx, NY. I teach 6th and 7th-grade math to a group of ambitious and excited pre-teenagers. They want to have all the resources available to them that any other student across the world has. My students have very reachable goals and I hope to help each and every one of them achieve those goals.
My students live in the Bronx, NY and deal with many struggles, and they come to school to feel safe and to learn.
Many of my students are the minority. I strive to have a welcoming and warm classroom and need your help!
My students come to school ready to learn and they make me want to get up every day to teach them and make their lives better.
My Project
Currently, our school is closed due to the coronavirus. NYC school teachers have turned their classrooms into a virtual classroom. My students are having class daily through google meet and google classroom. Teaching math would be much easier if I had the use of a google pen. The use of a google pen would allow me to easily show students how to work out a problem. Many times when typing math into a computer you lose the formatting. A google pen would make the math problems look just as they did when we were in the classroom. Please help make remote learning easier and more like regular school. The magnetic borders with help put smiles on students' faces when they see a bulletin board set up in my home.
