This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have yet to meet these first graders, but I know that they will be full of energy and eager to learn. First grade is such a vital year to provide a strong foundation for these children's futures. First-grade students are always asking questions, they are active learners, and they enjoy hands-on and engaging instruction.
While my students may not have it all, in my classroom, they will know that the world is theirs if they have the motivation to achieve.
In order to instill these values in my students, it is important to set up a learning environment that promotes success for all students.
My Project
There are so many little things that are essentials to help the classroom run smoothly! We need a clean classroom, as well as resources, like white boards, that can enhance my teaching and student learning!
Students learn in our classroom in so many ways, especially in small groups, so these materials will help students complete their work in multiple formats.
The main goal is to make learning fun and engaging. The white boards, dry erase spots, and PlayDoh allow students to display their knowledge through pictures and symbols, rather than just words. The binders will be used to help us track data and provide a visual for all the growth that we make this school year.
