My Students

"At home you learn who you are, at school you learn who you can be!"

My students are caring, loving and smart individuals who LOVE to move.

Each student is a diverse learner and have individual needs ranging from IEP's to love and counseling. I call each student in and out of my classroom my Ohana. "Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." This saying is from the movie, Lilo and Stitch. My students and I live by this motto and stick together as a family. Most of the time, I buy my students materials. Over the past 12 years of teaching in the district, I have always given my students hugs before the day begins and when they leave me to head home. This gesture sends a message to my students that they are loved. Moreover, my Ohana deserves the to have the best learning environment.

My Project

These Scholastic resources will enhance the print-rich classroom that we strive to create for ALL of 2nd grade student.

With these Scholastic Magazines, my students will be able to learn about real world happenings in our society.

Students will learn their are children outside of their community just like them in many ways. Plus, be informed of important elections, our every changing climate and get to keep their own magazine to share with their families.

Lastly, the best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these Scholastic magazines will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.
