This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school serves students in South East D.C. K-8. Our students are dedicated and work hard to ensure the schools success! I have many young girls that love S.T.E.M. : )

We work collaboratively and use hands on activities to engage students in the sciences.

Due to our schools inner city location, using the outside area around us is nearly impossible. My students would greatly benefit from field experiences and would greatly appreciate them as well! Thank you in advance!

My Project

Students will use headsets to access virtual activities on the website www.nearpod.com

Imagine taking your students to the Taj Majal, The Pyramids of Giza, the Washington Monument or the Great Wall of China.

All from the comfort of your classroom. VR is an awesome way to help all learning styles and ensure high levels of engagement! It can be used to look inside volcanoes, study chemical reactions, go deep sea diving, visit national landmarks across the country or travel the world!

My students need Virtual Reality headsets for virtual field trips using nearpod.com!Students love using this technology. I have used my peronal VR headset to engage visual learners, it has been the talk of the school ever since. I could only imagine that classroom VR is the wave of the future!
