it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello. I am a 7th grade RSP Teacher/Leadership teacher in a small rural farming community in Firebaugh, CA. Our middle school is a Title I school (low-income). Although many of our students face hardships every single day, they persevere through adversity and bring their "A" game every day. FMS is comprised of students from all different walks of life and socio-economic backgrounds. In the past year, FMS has been recognized as a School to Watch and has been awarded the Gold PBIS award.
Our school is full of incredible student leaders and I am so honored to have 23 Student Leaders in my leadership class who define what it is to be a student leader!
Because many of our students come from low-income households, going out and buying expensive school spiritwear is very challenging. It is my hopes to acquire funding to purchase a t-shirt press for my amazing school and students. With this we will be able to make affordable spirit wear while fundraising for our Leadership Class. If I could give the students at FMS the world I would! I hope, with the help of donors like you, we could help spread school spirit and boost school morale!
My Project
The profit my leadership class will make from selling school spirit wear will go back into our ASB account. Our ASB account pays for all of our student activities, field trips, athletic games, etc. Working in a Title I district, it is difficult to provide students with successful fundraising opportunities. It is my hope that the school wide spirit wear we make with our new heat press will not only boost school spirit and morale, but bring in much needed ASB funds.

My leadership class can utilize the heat press to make shirts for school clubs, events, etc. It has been our custom to order materials from an outside vendor, which can be quite costly. Having our own heat press will allow us to make items on campus, bringing down costs and also bringing in money for our ASB account.
