Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My goal for this project is to bring wellness workshops and programs to students and teachers. I am furthering my professional development to get a 300 hour training that will equip me with enhancing my pedagogy, deepen my yoga knowledge, and strengthen my ability to foster healing in my teaching and leadership.

Additionally, I will develop my capacity as a social-emotional learning and mindfulness expert to better support the wellness needs of students and teachers.

Supporting the mental, emotional, and physical development of students is just as important as the academic growth of students. For educators, enhancing their overall well-being is very important and crucial to helping them better tackle the increased demands of their role.

This life-changing experience will give me incredible tools and support to catalyze healing and social change in school communities and help me to become a better educator. I'm determined to be a catalyst for change in how we look at the importance of social emotional health in our students and the support we give to our teachers.
