This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
All students are in need of new school supplies every year. The school I teach at is a Title I funded school, and the majority of our families are considered low income. These supplies will take the burden of purchasing new supplies off of the families and make it so all students have exactly the same supplies to use each day. These materials will help my students be successful at completing tasks and learning at school. If we have students participate in distance learning next year, they will be provided the same supplies as well.
I work with a diverse population of students who have varying needs and benefit from interactive lessons.
The supplies that are being requested include binders, tape, scissors and a pencil sharpener. All of these items will be used during interactive lessons. Using different color binders helps students break up problems or readings, so they can focus on specific questions. Pencils will be given to students for classroom use. Pouches will help students organize their materials. Scissors will be used for classroom lessons and projects. I want to make sure my students have everything they need to be successful at school and not have to worry about how they will get it.
