This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school family is just that, a family. We are located in a small urban community that was once a bustling city with a large industry of refineries. Today our town is a community that is almost forgotten. Many of the big industries have closed or moved away and the main street is mostly quiet. Our student population is truly diverse, a tiny melting pot of people from various walks of life sharing a little corner of the world.
Many of our students are from low socioeconomic status meaning that school is the place where they are provided with their meals, entertainment, and comfort in addition to an education.
The teachers and staff create a community of caring and kindness that helps these students thrive regardless of the challenges facing them.
My Project
Due to budget cuts our teachers are limited with how many supplies we can provide to our students to keep the organized and motivated to learn. By contributing to our project your are helping the students stay organized and that in turn motivates the students to learn and "always do their best." Many of the supplies are reusable year-to-year so your contribution will be appreciated by many classes.
Budget cuts should not hold our students back.
Our students need the supplies to be successful. Your donation will make the world of a difference to many students for years to come.
