Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into my classroom everyday with big smiles, excited to learn, and yearning to see what the day will bring. Most of my students have never been in a school setting before and it is important to provide them and expose them to the materials that they need.
My kindergarten students are like sponges who soak up learning while bringing out their shining personalities.
I teach at a Title I school in California where 90 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many come from homes with harsh backgrounds and living situations. Despite the hardships in my student's home lives they come to school each day eager to learn and ready to achieve their best.
My Project
We could use these materials for everyday use in the classroom. The color printer will allow me to easily print things for centers. The students also will use the printer to publish their work in writing. The markers the students love using when they are working quietly, we will also use the markers on prize day which is every Friday. The dry erase pockets allow them to practice writing their letters, numbers. and name. The dry erase boards are used daily in math, writing, and language arts. They practice writing their sight words, name, adding and subtracting problems as well as writing their numbers.
