This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in my class face several challenges both in an out of the classroom as our school is located in a high poverty neighborhood. Despite any challenges they may face, my hope is that in our school, we provide high quality and meaningful learning experiences.
The goal is for students to be excited to come to school every day and to be consistently and actively engaged.
Creating a classroom that is welcoming and comfortable for students is a major priority.
My Project
These materials will help my students start the year off on the right foot. The pens, pencils, glue, markers and crayons are materials that students need on a daily basis to complete assignments and projects.
Most of my students are unable to purchase the basic supplies that are needed for the school year.
It is nice to have these supplies ready for students on their desk on the first day. This is especially true for the students that come to school that first day without any supplies.
The incentive charts are a great way to keep students motivated. They love to see their charts filled with stickers. This helps them keep track of their own progress.
