This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is a large urban community that welcomes families from all over the world. We are a Title 1 school in a low-income community. I have twenty-seven kindergarteners in my class this year. My students come to school with different experiences and background knowledge. Most of my students have never been to school before. Free breakfast and free lunch are served to all students in our building every day. Every day with my students is fun and full of surprises.
My Project
These supplies will help our class throughout the school year. We our from a low income, title one school. Our school funding has been dwindling each year, and students can not afford to bring in their own supplies. School supplies can be so expensive for families. These crayons, glue sticks, pencils, erasers, dry erase markers, and other supplies will be so great for the kids. They will get us off to a great start in September, and hopefully last throughout the school year. With this project, my students will have the supplies they need to be successful in Kindergarten.
