This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a large, Title One school with a little over 1,000 students. It is racially diverse and over eighty percent of its population receives free and/or reduced lunch.
With that said, my class is full of energy and life.
They are eager to learn especially in fun and creative ways. They understand the importance of a good education, and they want to be successful. They especially want to please others by doing well. Please consider helping us this year.
My Project
I am switching from teaching fourth grade to first this year, and am seeking basic school supplies for my new students. My hope is that with your help, each of my students will have his or her own pair of scissors and glue sticks to use for art projects. I am also seeking sharpened pencils. This will make it easier for each student to grab a pencil and save me from sharpening so many at the beginning of the year. Finally, I would love for them each to have a binder to keep all of their work organized.
Students need access to school supplies in order to be successful.
