School Supplies - Notebooks, Pencils, Markers & Erasers

The children I teach this year are wonderful. They are happy third graders. In my room the children are still very much in need of your support. Our classroom has a limited number of note books, and parents are not sending in school supplies. Each child will need at least ten journals over the entire school year. We need pencils, sharpeners and some healthy snacks for the children who are often times hungry. This year I have a general education classroom of third graders. They are taking the state test this year and my goal is to prepare them as best I can.

We have received some writing journals in the past. It's been so wonderful that I thought it would be great to get some special take home writing journals that may inspire the children to do even more writing. The children love writing in their journals very much. I realized how proud they were of them, when I noticed students rushing to grab their journals to show visitors to our class. When I give them special paper to write on, a few children will sneak over to the journals to retrieve their book to do the assignment in. It's truly rewarding to see them so excited about these writing journals. I want this class to be excited about writing. I want them to have the tools they need to do their best. I designed and implemented an anthropology club at our school. We really do need some journals and pencils for the children to use there also.

Besides writing books we desperately need some healthy snacks, pens to edit our writing, erasers, markers, and pencils to get through the new school year in comfort. Sentence strips would be a life saver. Lovely electric sharpeners which die after two months on average would also be wonderful and help our room to run more smoothly. The children love to receive goodies and they love that people care about them. They become very emotional and you will see this in their letters to you. They have so very little and still come to school with big smiles daily.

I do wish to thank the supporters of this organization for all they have done for the children in my class in the past. You have truly improved the quality of the children's' educational journey. Because of your kindness the children are exploring fossils, shells, coral, dinosaurs, magnets, butterflies and frogs in a very hands on fashion this year, in our wonderful anthropology club. They are enjoying learning and having great fun. They are very appreciative of all that you do for them and continue to do.
