School Supplies Needed for Second Half of School Year!
My students need transportation theme models, prizes for prize box, velcro, laminating sheets, and a cup dispenser for the second half of the school year!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My Pre-Kindergarten students are enthusiastic "college bound" learners! They are intelligent, young students, but the reality is that their socioeconomic statuses and zip codes put them at an academic disadvantage, as compared to their more affluent peers. They are in dire need of having access to quality materials, both inside and outside of the classroom. However, providing them with the supplies necessary to learn in this context is a struggle due to severe budget cuts.
For most of my students, this is their first experience in a structured learning environment.
I want to be able to make their first learning experience hands-on and fun!
My Project
The second half of the school year has quickly approached. My students have learned so much in such a short amount of time, and are enthusiastic to learn more! I am looking to restock, and enhance, our current supplies and materials to keep my kids actively engaged in learning!
Hands-on models of the different modes of transportation will be used for creative discovery during our upcoming unit, On The Move!
These materials will help to foster understanding and exploration of the unit topics. The laminating sheets and Velcro will be used to display student work, and create student books.
We are very fortunate to have a water cooler located in our classroom, however we have no cup dispenser. A cup dispenser will assist my students in becoming independent, as well as help keep the handling of cups sanitary.
My students have matured into kind, caring, and responsible individuals. I want to be able to motivate and reward my students for their positive choices, dedicated effort, and encouraging and compassionate attitudes. We need prizes, and candy to re-fill our classroom prize box for the second half of the school year.
