Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school every day excited to learn! My school is a Title I school with 92.9% of students coming from low-income families. There is a high percentage of Latinos at my school. I teach students who are learning English as a second language.
My students may come from low-income homes, but they are motivated to do well in school, and they enjoy learning!
I teach 2nd-4th grade Special Education. My students have various disabilities including intellectual disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, ADHD, other health impairment, and learning disabilities.
My Project
Many of my students come to school without school supplies. The majority of my students come from low-income households.
Most of my students will walk into school the first day with nothing but their bodies.
I’m consistently supplying my students with basic supplies such as notebooks and pencils. We need school supplies as a class to start the year off with. We need notebooks, folders, markers, page protectors, hand sanitizer, and Clorox wipes.
If my students and I receive these supplies, we will be able to start the year off on the right foot with all of the materials we need!
