This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a curious and talented group of third graders in an ICT special education integrated classroom. Most of the students are on free or reduced-price lunch and come from low income neighborhoods. We try to make our classroom an oasis, a happy and peaceful place that fosters learning and exploration.
It is important for me to provide my students with all of the resources they might not have otherwise, since school is often the stepping stone to break the cycle of poverty in families.
I am passionate about what I do and seeing my students learning and growing justifies all of the hard work that I do.
My Project
I am requesting pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, dry erase markers and other school supplies to help our classroom's day run smoothly!
Students learn best in an environment that has everything they need to support their success, often this includes simply pencils, erasers, and classroom supplies.
I want my students to feel like their classroom supports them and is providing for their success.
We are asking for these items so that students always have what they need and don't take time out of their learning to look for a pencil or eraser.
We are also requesting dry erase markers so every student can work on a dry erase board during math lessons. Students love these boards and it helps keep them engaged in the lesson - making math fun! :)
