Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Although I have been teaching for 18 years, this is my first year teaching a gifted classroom. I am so excited and honored to teach these gifted children. I want to make sure that they have the necessary supplies that they will need while learning.
I will be teaching 28 students who have been specially chosen to be in my first grade gifted classroom.
They are neighborhood children who performed well in Kindergarten. They come from homes where their mom and dad do not have the money for school supplies. They are extremely motivated students. They are respectful to each other. And they are lovers of learning. They are the BEST!!
My Project
These resources will allow my students to focus on their education and not worry about whether or not they have their own school supplies. The pencils will allow them to write personal narratives, silly sentences, and math word problems. The crayons will allow them to illustrate pictures for their narratives or draw pictures to match their word problems. The glue sticks will be used when doing art projects. These supplies are necessary for my students to be active learners in the classroom.
These donations will have such an impact on my classroom.
The students and I won't have to worry about having enough pencils, crayons, or glue sticks. The students will use these supplies and be forever grateful.
