My students are energetic and come to school every day ready to learn. They work together in small groups and love working with each other during math and stem activities. We do a lot of building community activities within our classroom and the kids enjoy getting comfortable in class when they work together in their small groups. I stress kindness, compassion, and empathy in my class and the kids mimic that. I love that my students like to come to school ready to learn and work with one another. They love to help each other and are always willing to help me. In past classrooms, I have had students make me birthday cards and draw cat pictures for me because they know how much I love cats. My favorite candy is a tootsie roll and I have had students bring me bags of tootsie rolls because they know that I love them so much. It makes me feel good when they think about me.
My Project
Many of my students come to school without the necessary supplies for learning. I have been purchasing the school supplies so they will have what they need in school. This can be very expensive for thirty-two students. We will be using the supplies for some class projects throughout the school year. I have reading projects that the students will need to use poster boards, crayons, colored pencils, and construction paper for these projects. The students will use the notebooks for the journal writing that we do every morning. These supplies will be very useful throughout the year.
