Help me give my students school supplies (markers, crayons, post-its, etc) that are essential in helping their learning grow from the beginning of their school year to the end.
Our classroom is in an urban setting. We have almost 70% low income students in our school overall. My classroom has many english language learners. I’m a teacher at a low-income/high poverty school district.
My school consists of a diverse community of students with a wide range of abilities, languages, different races, and other home dynamics.
My classroom has many English language learners. They are funny, playful, hardworking, and thoughtful. They’re always curious and ask questions about the things around them. However, there are many factors that prevent some of my students from receiving opportunities or life experiences. Due to these factors, many of my students and their families rely on the school and the teachers to develop their love for learning and to help them continue their growth as learners. Despite the many challenges they face, I look forward to cultivating a classroom environment where my students can create meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
As a teacher, I believe it is important to try and help take away the worry of getting the basic school supplies away from my students and families. My students should not have to worry about not having materials to learn and be successful in school. Because 70% of our school population are of low income, more and more students are showing up to the first day of school with little to no supplies.
These school supplies are essential to my students learning and participation.
These supplies will help my students start the school year on the right track. My students will be able to use these materials on projects and activities to practice their learning. The supplies will be readily available for my students so they can take charge of their education and be scholars. These essential school supplies are a great way to ensure that my students have a successful school year.
