Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
How can we help close the achievement gap in low-income districts with students who have a wide range of abilities? My students struggle with having the necessary materials to succeed. How can I teach my 9th graders about the eloquent language of Shakespeare without the proper materials? This is why I need your help!
As a teacher in a low-income school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with both creative and meaningful learning experiences. I aim to teach them skills that they will need not only in their high school academic lives, but in future college and careers settings as well.

Because of this, I am looking for various classroom supplies such as pens, pencils, erasers, folders, tape and posterboard. I aim to teach my students skills that they will need not only in their high school academic lives, but in future college and careers settings as well.
Many of these students will not get this experience if I do not provide them with the materials they need to be successful in the classroom.
Again, I serve in a district where most students come from families low-income backgrounds. Some of my students are also English Language Learners (ELLs) or receive special education services. Providing my students with these materials also allows me (and you donors!) the opportunity to enrich their academic experience.
