Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 4th grade at a Title I and under performing school. However, my students are some of the best people I know! They are great kids and I am trying my best to engage them and build relationships with them. What a better way to build relationships then having fun and playing creative learning games and have many academic learning options is my thinking.
My school is very heavily populated with English language learners and they aren't afforded some of the opportunities students in affluent areas might not have.
Through the use of flexible seating choices and using technology like an echo dot students will have greater control over what they learn, how they learn, and when they learn. Through the use of an echo dot, students will be able to communicate with students and teachers not just across one school but many schools and different education settings as needed.
People often use money as a reason why these types of lessons aren't being offered. I refuse to let something like money dictate how I am going to teach. Any support will be greatly appreciated.
My Project
I have always strived to make our classroom as welcoming as possible. With extra flexible seating and additional technological support, I want to make my classroom a fun place where students want to be and increase student technological communication skills. This can be achieved through flexible seating stools and the echo dot that I have requested.
With a new school year right around the corner, we need school supplies so all our students can feel successful.
Students will be given many choices to increase their own achievement and communication skills.
I do not want my students or families to have to feel stressed out about new supplies for the upcoming school year. My students face hardships in and out of school and I want to alleviate their in-school experience as much as possible. I want to create a positive classroom experience so they can achieve their maximum potential.
We need cleaning supplies, dry erase markers, seating, technology and more so we can build community supply buckets that everyone can use.
We want to create everlasting memories that really make the classroom feel like it belongs to them.
