Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a nonprofit technology and skilled-trades focused charter school on the South Side of Milwaukee. Our students are predominantly Hispanic and bilingual.
Our school mission is to provide students an environment that fosters high expectations, hard work, and strong parental involvement that will lead every student to rigorous high schools and colleges and equip the with skills to be competitive in dynamic future job markets.
We pride ourselves on instilling in our students a desire to achieve at a high level.
My Project
My students are currently in need of sensory tools to help them self- regulate and focus in class.
Many of our students have difficulty sitting and focusing for an extended amount of time.
Fidget tools will provide them with healthy outlets to help them improve attention and learning throughout the school day.
As it is half-way through the school year, many of our students have school supplies that are falling apart. We have an organization system at our school that matches class subject with different colors. Students are in need of new folders and notebooks. I have run out of the various subject colors. New supplies will help the students to keep organized for the rest of the year.
