Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

As a part of Boston Public Schools, our school is an in-district public charter school that aims to unlock the potential of our scholars in order to prepare them for high school and beyond. We are located in the heart of a historically underserved community. At UAD, 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch and we serve over 700 students and families each day. This project aims to provide our students with a variety of options and prizes for our school store, where they can use points accrued during the week to "buy" items. We are so appreciative of your support!

My Project

This project will allow our students to use their TIGER points - which they receive for showing outstanding teamwork, integrity, grit, engagement, and respect - to buy items at our school store. Each week students receive a score based on their weekly behavior, and with a parent signature can redeem items at the school store with those points. The store offers a variety of items from sporting goods, to school supplies, to gaming items. Our store serves over 200 students each week, and your donations will help us to provide a variety of options to appeal to the interests of all students.
