My students are a wonderfully diverse group, who are learning to collaborate together to figure out how and why the world around us works and changes. The best part about my class is that everyone brings their own set of strengths. I have a mix of English language learners, special education students, and gifted students working together in my class, which requires differentiation in everything we do! This year we are studying physical science - matter, energy and the engineering process. My goal is to make science inquiry-based in every possible way - this includes offering many lab experiences!
The best feeling as a teacher is seeing my students work effectively as a team to take learning into their own hands in order to problem solve and think critically.
These are valuable skills that students will leave my classroom with and use for the rest of their lives.
My Project
Each day, our students have a daily advisory session and we have daily announcements we read at that time. We would like to create a broadcasted news show for our students to watch instead, using new technology that will help them with their future school learning.
Our students need materials to create a school news show, specifically they need green screens, backgrounds, lights and microphones to help them create a quality show.
I am writing this project with two of my colleagues and we have collaborated to request the required materials so that our advisory groups can pilot this new news show.
