School Girls and OpenROV
My students need an ROV underwater robot kit and the building materials. The girls will make a ROV that we will use in our science classes!
My students are all at risk girls grades 6-12. They come from varied backgrounds. Our center and my classroom provide a safe haven for the girls to grow and change.
I work with the girls to get them engaged in learning and try to promote life long learning.
My girls love hands-on projects that keep them engaged and on task. We have girls from all ethnic backgrounds. I teach all the science subjects at my school. We also have an ocean team that competes in a national competition and a club that works to save sharks.
The girls would use these materials to build an ROV. We will use the ROV to show engineering, hands-on tasks, science and exploration. I would like to take the ROV and enter it into a Florida ROV competition as well. This will help the girls use materials that real scientists use as well.
These donations would better my classroom by exposing my girls to something they have never seen before!
This would be an amazing experience to grow and share with my girls. I know this will show my students that we can build anything! I would love to show them how real ocean science works.
