Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Physical Education & Health teacher at a in NJ. The school staff and I want to put together a field day that our students will look forward to and remember as the most talked about event of the school year. My goal is to put on a field day that these students will remember and look forward to every year. I want them to enjoy the day so much that it becomes the most looked forward day to of the year. There are 700+ students at this school.
My students do not have it easy, and many are put in situations where they must grow up faster than life may have planned.
However, they still come to school with the most positive attitudes and try to align themselves with strong role models to help them make the right choices. These kids deserve to be kids, even if it is just for one day. They deserve to have fun and let loose, not worry about the troubles at home, and understand that this school and these teachers have their best interest at heart.
My Project
The equipment that will be donated, such as the soccer goal and hula-hoop sets, will not only be used to make field day amazing but it will also be used throughout the year in physical education class to help these students have a release from class and enjoy themselves.
I want to give as much as I can to these students since they are less fortunate then your average student.
They deserve that and much more, they really are amazing students, disadvantaged yes but they do not use it as an excuse. They keep me coming back to work everyday, and help me enjoy my job.
