School Essentials for Successful Learners

My students need school supplies, such as glue sticks, markers, crayons and colored pencils in order to be successful this school year!

My Students

"Strength lies in differences, not in similarities". This quote describes the students in my class who come from a variety of different cultures, backgrounds, and places. They love to learn, and love to apply their learning through a variety of ways. They also love to encourage each other to be the best we can be. Our school is a place where students feel safe and comfortable to take risks to grow their brains. Together, we wish to explore our curriculum, with the necessary materials.

As an inner-city teacher, my students don't have the access to basic classroom essentials.

The students in my school come from families of high poverty or are homeless. Many of them do not come to school every day with a pencil or crayon box. Almost always, these materials are provided by the dedicated teachers within the school. These students want to learn, and having these materials would allow them to continue to explore and motivate them to love learning.

My Project

The students in my school are often unable to purchase the supplies they need in order to be successful learners. There are several homeless and high poverty families within my classroom that come to school without being prepared. Several of them rely on school just to provide them with a meal, and a safe place to be. The school I work in is also the biggest elementary school and as a result, is extremely underfunded. Without these materials, the students' learning and education severely struggles. My students need crayons, markers, glue sticks, colored pencils, backpacks and regular pencils. With these materials, the students will be able to be creative in their writing, complete math assignments and engage in literacy centers. These supplies will benefit the students in kindergarten through fifth grade in my school.

These supplies will change our students' lives for the better because they will love school and feel successful, while also having fun while learning!

Your generous donation will make a huge impact on my students' ability to be successful students. When they receive the new crayons, pencils and markers, they will know that they are able to focus on what is being taught and not on finding basic supplies. Crayons, markers and colored pencils will not only be used in daily reading, writing and math activities, but they will also help bring my students' learning to life! You will be making my students' lives much better with this gift
