Help me give my students materials that will help them learn third grade skills in a hands-on way at home with math manipulatives, art supplies, and STEM materials.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to create a distance learning project for my students! My kids are such resilient, hard workers. We were just hitting a real stride as a classroom family when the school closure hit. The last day of school we had no idea we wouldn’t be coming back. We were so unprepared. It’s heartbreaking to build such strong relationships with kids and in the blink of an eye, have to end your time with them without even saying goodbye.
My students are learning from home right now, with the help of their amazing families.
However, many of my students have no access to tech they can reliably use, and some have no access to WiFi either. I’d love to build them a care package of materials they can use independently at home to keep practicing their skills until we can come back to school together.
My Project
My students are doing the best that they can trying to learn from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Most of my students do not have access to the appropriate technology to allow us to learn virtually together. Despite all of that, they are contacting me regularly and trying their best to continue to learn.
These materials will make a difference in my students' lives.
They will give them tools they can use at home, to learn important hands-on skills that they will need to be successful when they move on to fourth grade next year. These are materials that they can continue to use for years to come to keep up on their skills, too. I love that these are materials that will allow them to be creative, and solve problems that they can create. It will also allow them to spend time with family in a way that is both fun and educational.
