My Students

I am new to this school district. I have students who are all over the spectrum and have a variety of ability levels. My students are very excited about learning, and very eager! We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, such as group work, individual instruction, and whole group instruction.

My school is a Title I school and 100% of our school receives free breakfast/lunch.

We also had students at our school who were affected by the hurricane.

My Project

In 4th grade, students become very interested in current events and what is happening around the world. We have done some current events and short stories in the classroom. The students are beginning to get very eager! However, we need more resources for this.

Reading these short stories in Scholastic Magazines will help manage class time while still promoting learning.

I am asking for diverse books for our classroom library that the students will be able to take Accelerated Reading tests on. This is a reading program that we use to promote reading within our school. I am also requesting Scholastic Storyworks as Scholastic ties in a lot of its curriculum with North Carolinas Standards/Common Core. These resources are limited and this will give us a variety of resources to use. These assessments will promote higher-level thinking, and any and all resources are helpful for our students!
