My Students

I always like to tell my students that in our classroom they are part of a family. We all bring different things to the table. Some of us are quieter, where others are loud and outgoing. Some students love sports and learning history and war, where others love math or science, or reading science fiction novels.

All of our interests are different, but we still find common ground and have similarities.

Our classroom is composed of students from many different socioeconomic backgrounds. The students' upbringings, family traditions, and different cultural backgrounds help to make our classroom a unique place to learn and grow together. We are all able to contribute to making our classroom the best learning environment it can be!

My Project

In our classroom, we use all different types of resources for reading, especially when we are reading nonfiction text. One resource that I have used in the past with students is Scholastic Scope Magazines. My students always loved the interesting stories within the text, and many of the stories would help to make connections to other topics we were studying in other subject areas.

These magazines are a great way for students to read high interest nonfiction text!

The articles that Scope creates helps students to learn about different cultures, and major events happening all over the world! Thank you for considering making a donation to our classroom!
