This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello, my scholars are a diverse group of students where over 50% are free and reduced lunch and English Language Learners. Our school has just over 700 students.

My scholars are AVID learners who love participating and collaborating at school.

They always try their best to be continuous learners who are Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Kind. Many of my scholars are 1-2 grade levels behind in reading and language arts skills while others are beyond grade level and need a challenge.

My Project

My scholars will be honing their reading skills, while at the same time, learning social studies and science. We will also use what we have read for classroom debates, reports, and writing assignments. The final outcome will be to use the magazines as a source to cite when learning how to write reports. There are even opportunities to strengthen language arts and math skills. These magazines never go to waste in our classroom as after we have used them for reading and any of the above mentioned tasks we save them for use when making posters and other craft projects about our learning. Thank you in advance for helping me to continue this resource since our school budget could not.
