My students are kind, funny, loving, energetic and enjoy learning!
They come from a high poverty area in an urban district, and although they may have a tough time at home, most days they come in smiling and have a big hug for me, their teacher.
My student's parents don't have the funds for me to request them each paying $5 for a magazine, even though it's a wonderful magazine. They have a hard enough time bringing in school supplies.
My Project
Fifth graders are amazing. My students come from diverse backgrounds and bring a variety of life experiences with them. They come to school every day ready learn and it is up to me to find fun and engaging ways to reach their diverse learning needs. So many of our students come to school dealing with their own personal issues, and they do not see beyond themselves and the present moment. Students need to have to materials (Scholastic news) that will increase engagement in the classroom and spark a love of learning.
I want my students to not only be successful today but to become problem solvers that will help shape the world around us!
