My Students

I am a general education teacher in a co-teaching classroom. I work half the day with a special education teacher and the other half with a teaching assistant. I also work with a classroom aide. We have children with various needs academically and socially.

Having a classroom with a mixture of academic abilities can be challenging, but I welcome the ups and downs.

I enjoy creating behavior plans and seeing what gets each child motivated to complete a task. Watching the children grow and succeed is the most rewarding part of my job.

My Project

My students are always so excited to read the Scholastic News articles each week. They love that many are about current events or interesting bits of information that is written for their understanding. In the past, our HSA was able to fund this for us. Unfortunately, they are unable to for the 2020-2021 school year.

Due to the many financial burdens families in my district have, I do not feel comfortable asking parents/guardians to pay for a subscription to Scholastic News.

I would love to continue to see the spark in my students' eyes next year. Please consider funding this project. Thank you!
