Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are active and adventurous 4th graders who will greatly benefit from additional resources to help them reach their full potential.

The majority of my students are from low-income families and speak English as their second language.

I strive to make my classroom a fun and inviting safe space for learning. These children are full of energy and ready for active learning. Their excitement when they are given opportunities to learn in a hands on way encourages me to provide the very best for them.

My Project

Scholastic News magazines are an amazing resource for children. The students in my classroom would greatly benefit from having this resource available for instruction. I know they would be excited to have a magazine written for kids that belongs to them and that they could take home when finished.

These articles connect students with relevant and interesting events in the world around them, while continuously building and strengthening their literacy skills.

These magazines would be used in whole class and small group instruction daily. They include topics that many of my low income students may not hear about otherwise, introducing them to what life is like in other parts of the world and preparing them to be global citizens of the 21st century.
