Scholastic Magazines: Supporting TEKS with Storyworks - Teaching across Genres
My students need Scholastic Storyworks magazines. Teaching across Genres with fun stories, poems, Narrative Non-Fiction, Debates - We will cover it all.
My students need Scholastic Storyworks Magazines in the Reading classroom. These magazines strengthen literacy, inquiry, and problem-solving skills with engaging current events and non-fiction articles.
This year our students are focused on a variety of STEM lessons in Science and Math.
The best way for a Reading teacher to support the Science and Math teacher is with Scholastic Magazines. Students will be able to focus on real-world issues and problems with the variety of articles and stories published in Storyworks.
My Project
Storyworks magazines have everything students and teachers will need to build Language Arts skills! Stories, poems, plays and more will captivate students with thrilling texts across multiple genres. Grammar and Vocabulary are covered as well.
These magazines are geared towards 5th graders and their interests but students on different reading levels will have the support needed to get the most from each of the magazines.
Each issue comes with teaching tools that support Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies.
Storyworks has standards-based lesson plans, and online features. These are online resources such as closed-captioned videos, Text-to-Speech audio, and ELA games. Students love the fact that they get to keep their magazine - take it home and share some of their favorite stories with parents and brothers and sisters. One student even reads to her dog.
