My school has amazing students! I am fortunate enough to get to teach its youngest learners. Being a science magnet, this school is extra special as it attracts students from all over our big city since our school's enrollment is filled by a lottery and not proximity.
My school has a beautifully diverse population filled with many different cultures and socioeconomic classes of students all with one thing in common- they love science!
My classroom is filled with 30 excited little learners! These kindergartners really enjoy learning non-fiction and would be thrilled to get their own magazines each month to help bring the curriculum to life!
My Project
In kindergarten, we learn through the seasons and worldly holidays in order to keep the curriculum fun for the kids! I still remember the magic of reading Scholastic News when I was a student and and want to share that experience with my class as well. Who doesn't love their own fresh, colorful copy of news that pertains to their age and interests with a special activity or game on the back?
Scholastic Magazines are a great way to engage even the most reluctant learners!
Each week it is like their own personal gift when they receive their magazine that they even get to take home to share with their families. Talk about a great home-school connection resource! It melts my heart when I hear of the kiddos teaching (and showing!) their parents or siblings what they learned in class. My little learners would be so excited about these magazines!
