My class of six and seven year-olds come to school to have a safe and inviting environment where they know they will be loved. Because of the students' socioeconomic status, they don't always have the opportunity to use engaging tools that increase their motivation to learn. We are a Title I school. I want to bring technology with driven and engaging ways to learn in the classroom to make learning fun and exciting each and every day.
I want my students to learn in an environment that they feel most comfortable.
My goal of teaching is to find tools and ways to increase that love of learning and for my students to become lifelong learners.
My Project
These materials will be used by the student and their families at home. The scholastic 100 words workbooks will be given to my struggling readers and will give their families an entire book of ways to help them at home. The math skills books will be sent home with my students who have difficulty mastering our math skills in class to allow their family the opportunity to help at home in ways they may not have known they were needed.
Students learning should not stop when they leave the classroom.
I want to increase my student’s learning at home through family engagement with Scholastic reading and math skills workbooks.
I will also be giving my students incentives for completely these pages with a family member at home each week. It will be a fun engaging way to peak my student’s interest in learning with their family.
