My students need 1 copy per student(20) if the magazine from Scholastic. It is Clifford the Big Red Dog. It is a early learning magazine. They will get 2 magazines each month to use in the classroom for discussion.

I teach pre-k. I have 20 students. This pre-k is open to low income students. Some of them are slow learners. Most of them do not get help at home, most of the learning comes from being at school.

I think that "Weekly Reader" will help my students learn about the outside world. It will teach them about things like the election, fire safety. It talks about all the seasons and holidays. It also gives me a scope and sequence to go by. I think that they will be very interested in these magazines.

Each month each student will receive 2 issues. These magazines will be delivered to school. They do not go to their home address; however when we finish each issue they may take it home and share will other family members.

I know that most of you know that pre-k has its own funds. They do not provide for learning experiences such as this. I will have to purchase these out of my own pocket. Your donation will make it possible for my students to learn more about the real world.
