My students need subscriptions to Scholastic Art. This reading resource to help better their understanding of contemporary art in and their connection to the past.
This project expired on December 24, 2014.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are great talents who always find new ways to amaze me with their art making abilities. From paint to clay, students love learning new methods for manipulating materials and I love teaching them!
My students are eager to learn about how artists make art as they work through solving their own visual problems.
In my 7th and 8th grade classroom, I am greeted with students who cannot wait to get their hands on materials and make art. I am excited for the opportunity to get additional resources to them so they can take their skills and understanding to a whole new level.
Once obtaining this subscription of Scholastic Art, my students will use them to enhance their reading and comprehension skills while learning about contemporary issues in Art. This will help them focus on Art related issues and techniques as they work through visual problems on their own. Students will be able to turn the information gained from this magazine subscription into action as they apply concepts to their individual works throughout the school year.
This project will make a difference through the access students are given to research-based information in the classroom.
It will improve instruction and understanding around concepts focused on in the classroom and help students expand their learning in Art.
