My students are typical suburban Southern California adolescents that have a variety of learning levels. I can relate well to them because I grew up in the same area and even though time has passed many things are the same. I often share my experiences with them when I was their age and attended the same middle school as some of them. The students are able to relate to some of those stories that I tell because they may have experienced similar things. This makes them special because we family through a geographical location.
The students will be able to view lessons on a large monitor without interference. Currently, we use teachers in front of the class lessons where multiple adjustments are occurring which slows the efficiency of time and learning. With this document camera, students will have fewer distractions and teachers can teach from a remote area.
The students can become the instructor for the class with the ability to share the camera in all locations of the class.
This allows peer teaching, learning diversity from multiple sources, and increases in student participation with lessons.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
